No sign of increased house or apartment building

New figures from the Central Statistic Office show there is no sign of an increase in the building of houses and apartments.

Residential construction declined by 0.1% in the final three months of last year compared to the same period in 2023.

The latest data from the CSO monitors ongoing building work and differs from new dwelling completion figures published in January which showed 30,333 homes were built in 2024 a drop of 6.7% on the previous year.

The latest data shows the volume non-residential building fell by 1.1% between the last three months of last year and the same period in 2023.
