Applications open for Sport to Start-Up programme
Applications open today for the fourth round of the Sport to Start-Up programme.
The online course aims to help full time Irish sports people start their own business while still competing or training.
It is an initiative of the Local Enterprise Offices, and is funded by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment through Enterprise Ireland.
Over 60 people have completed the course since it started in 2020, including Olympic medalist Gary O’Donovan and Paralympic medalists Michael McKillop and Niamh McCarthy.
The programme covers all the key modules of starting a business – including market research and customer validation, finance, company registration, digital tools, sales, pitching, legal and compliance, branding and marketing – and right through to a business plan.
The next round of the programme will begin in mid-November and runs for three months.
