New online portal for disruptive technology companies

A new national online searchable database has been set up by IDA Ireland, in partnership with Enterprise Ireland, to profile Irish based companies and multinational companies that have capacity in disruptive and sustainable technologies.

Funding was secured under the Public Service Innovation Fund to build the new portal.

It will allow companies to identify collaborators, partners and providers to help them integrate new technologies into their businesses to address their key challenges and digitalisation agenda.

The portal will also allow companies and end users to raise challenges, ask questions, message each other and define collective challenges and opportunities.

Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Michael McGrath said the new portal was an excellent example of how the Public Service Innovation Fund can support collaboration within the public service in order to assist and develop businesses and also to drive the country’s digital transformation through the National Digital Strategy.

Tom Kelly, Divisional Manager Industrial and Life Sciences, Enterprise Ireland, said the portal was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate innovation at its best among Irish-based companies in disruptive technologies.

Mr Kelly said it will give these “cutting-edge companies” an opportunity to showcase their solutions to world-class multinational players globally.

Michael Lohan, Divisional Manager Life Sciences and Talent Transformation & Innovation at IDA Ireland, said that one of the key elements of IDA’s strategy is to expand and strengthen linkages between IDA clients and SMEs.

“The DTTP provides a unique means to foster knowledge sharing and build like-minded networks of innovators while promoting collaboration across the entire enterprise base,” he added.
